Walsall vs Swindon prediction

Last season, Walsall had such a lead at the top-of-the-table by mid-January that it appeared impossible for them to not go up, but they instead collapsed to fourth on the final day of the campaign before the Saddlers then suffered a slender 1-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the League Two play-off final at Wembley Stadium later that month.

They now face a Swindon Town side that, coached by former Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway, enjoyed an impressive run of form in the second-half of last season as they propelled themselves into the middle-of-the-table. They will now be expected to kick on again and potentially even challenge towards the top seven this season.

Walsall will have to go again after building something so strong last year, but they have proven what their potential is, against a potentially exciting Swindon side, it could be quite a fun opening day clash for the neutral.

Walsall vs Swindon tip: Over 2.5 goals
