They now face a Seattle Sounders side that head into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat of St Louis, with that victory and an opening day 2-0 win against the Colorado Rapids sandwiching a 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake.
The Seattle Sounders and the Vancouver Whitecaps are two of the lower scoring teams in MLS and a low-scoring first-leg seems a likely bet for this one at BC Place.
