Valur vs Kauno Zalgiris prediction

In their first meeting in the first-leg of this UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round tie at the Darius and Girenas Stadium in Lithuania last week, Kauno Zalgiris and Valur Reyjavik shared a 1-1 draw. Romualdas Jansonas opened the scoring in the second-half for Kauno, before Tyrggvi Hrafn Haraldsson equalised for the Icelanders late on.

Valur Reykjavik were knocked out at this stage of the competition last year by Saint Mirren, whilst Kauno Zalgiris didn’t qualify for the tournament and they have only ever won two European ties during their history.

Home advantage and a slightly better European pedigree would mean that Valur are the slight favourites for this second-leg as they line up the third qualifying round.

Valur vs Kauno Zalgiris tip: Valur to win
