Valerenga vs Wolfsburg prediction

Valerenga lost their league phase opener away to Man Utd by a goal to nil last week, but the reality is that the scoreline could have looked a lot worse had the hosts not wasted some promising opportunities in front of goal.

The Norwegian side can draw upon last season for inspiration though, as they drew 1-1 at home against German opponents Bayern Munich in the group stage - to date their only non-defeat in either the group stage or league phase of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Wolfsburg made an excellent start to their own European campaign last week with a comprehensive 4-0 defeat of Paris SG on home turf, although it's fair to say the scoreline flattered them a little with two late goals adding the gloss to their victory.

Their confidence will have been dented somewhat by a 1-3 defeat to Bayern in the Frauen-Bundesliga on Saturday - the second time they have lost to their domestic rivals this season - but they can be fancied to secure a narrow victory here.

Valerenga vs Wolfsburg tip: Wolfsburg to win & under 2.5 goals
