  • Uzbekistan have lost only two of their last 23 World Cup qualifying matches in Uzbekistan (W16 D5).

Uzbekistan vs Qatar prediction

Uzbekistan will be looking to cap a historic qualifying campaign with a positive result in front of their own fans in Tashkent on Tuesday as they welcome Qatar.

Their superb point in United Arab Emirates was fully deserved and clinched the qualification they had been desperately aiming for and now they can play this final match with no pressure after getting over the line.

Qatar come off an excellent 1-0 win over IR Iran although that should be put into context as their opponents had already qualified and thus had nothing to play for. The Qataris’ away form has been miserable in this phase of qualifying having lost their last three matches 1-3 to Kyrgyz Republic, 0-5 to UAE and 1-4 to Iran. They will have to improve if they are to get anything here but much will depend on how focused the hosts are.

We can see this being an open and entertaining encounter like the reverse fixture that finished 3-2 to Qatar. It feels like one of those unpredictable matches in terms of outcome, but we expect goals.

Uzbekistan vs Qatar tip: Over 2.5 total goals
