USA vs Japan prediction

Having finished fourth in the CONCACAF Nations League in March and then being beaten by Mexico in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final in June, the pressure is very much on Mauricio Pochettino. That has only increased after the USMNT suffered a 2-0 loss to South Korea at the Sports Illustrated Stadium the other day.

They now face a Japanese side that have one of the most exciting crops of players coming through in international football, with Blue Samurai dominant in Asian qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They most recently shared a goalless draw with Mexico in an evenly matched affair at the weekend.

Quite simply, the Japanese are a cohesive and well structured side at the moment, which is in stark contrast to the US, and so siding with Japan looks the way to go for this one.

USA vs Japan tip: Double chance – Japan to win or draw
