USA vs Italy prediction
USA racked up a whopping 12 goals across their first two group games before being overcome by South Africa in a narrow 2-1. Not a decisive loss, USA should be back at their best come the knockout stage, with a tough but inconsistent Italy waiting in the wings for them on the back of a second-place finish in Group D.
It’s difficult to tell what sort of Italian showing we’ll see here. Whether it be the team who got the better of Australia by a goal to nil, or the team firmly second best against Australia in a single-goal defeat. USA though, do look the stronger side offensively and that additional firepower may well prove decisive, so consider backing them to edge it.
