Universitario vs Barcelona prediction

Universitario, under the management of former Peru boss Jorge Fossati, come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 loss at home to Alianza Atletico in the Peruvian Apertura at the weekend. That means the home team are now winless in three games since a four-match winning streak across all competitions.

They now face Ecuadorian giants Barcelona, who come into this having most recently shared a 2-2 draw with Universidad Catolica the other day. The visitors have been quite inconsistent of late with just three victories in their last eight matches across all competitions. They were beaten 3-2 by River Plate in the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores last week.

Universitario are an underwhelming side and are one of the weaker sides in this competition so siding with Barcelona would appear the way to go for this one in Peru this midweek.

Universitario vs Barcelona tip: Double chance – Barcelona to win or draw
