Mid-table Udinese are basically more or less on the beach already in Serie A as the Friulians welcome a battling Fiorentina side to the Bluenergy Stadium this weekend.

Udinese preview: Mid-table Udinese

Udinese come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 loss away to Bologna in their most recent outing at the Renato Dall’Ara last week due to a 75th minute penalty scored by Italy international attacker Federico Bernadeschi.

That has continued the poor form of the hosts, extending their losing streak to three matches in Serie A, sitting firmly ensconced in the middle-of-the-table under the management of former Legia Warsaw boss Kosta Runjaic.

Fiorentina preview: In the fight

In the battle against relegation from Italy’s top-flight, the fallen giant of Fiorentina have managed to kick themselves out of danger with seven points collected from their last three matches in Serie A – but they will be more fatigued than they would like here.

That is because Jagiellonia Bialystok came from 3-0 down on aggregate to take I Viola to extra-time at the Artemio Franchi, only for Fiorentina to eventually get themselves back ahead after having to take the game more seriously than they previously have had.

Udinese team news: A few injuries

Oumar Solet is in excellent form for Udinese but he is now sidelined for this one, alongside both midfielder Alessandro Zanoli and striker Keinan Davis.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Okoye; Bertola, Kristensen, Kabasele, Zemura; Ekkelenkamp, Miller, Karlstrom, Atta; Zaniolo, Bayo

Unavailable: Solet (Injured), Zanoli (Injured), Davis (Injured)

Questionable: Kamara (Injured)

Fiorentina team news: Dodo suspended

Dodo is missing through suspension for this one with Tariq Lamptey still sidelined and Israel international attacker Manor Solomon now a doubt for Fiorentina.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): David de Gea; Comuzzo, Pongracic, Ranieri, Parisi; Ndour, Fagioli, Brescianini; Harrison, Kean, Gudmundsson

Unavailable: Dodo (Suspended), Lamptey (Injured)

Questionable: Solomon (Injured)

Udinese vs Fiorentina prediction

Fiorentina had finally found themselves in good form but, fairly arrogantly, decided to take the game against Jagiellonia less seriously than they should have in Florence. Udinese will head into the clash in woeful form themselves, though, and it could well be that the game lacks a fair amount of quality due to the dented confidence of both and so a low-scoring encounter would therefore seem a good bet for this one.

Udinese vs Fiorentina tip: Under 3.5 goals
