Twente vs Real Madrid prediction

Twente's 1-0 defeat to holders Arsenal last week put paid to any slim hopes they had of reaching the knockout rounds of the 2025-26 UEFA Women's Champions League.

The Dutch side have competed well at times in the league phase, but they have simply lacked a cutting edge in the final third and that has been their main undoing, with only three goals scored compared to nine conceded.

They now run into a Real Madrid side who, despite having a knockout stage play-off spot guaranteed, will be eyeing a place in the top four, and with it automatic passage into the quarter-finals.

Drawn together in the group stage last year, Real Madrid won 7-0 in Spain and 3-2 in the Netherlands in the only previous meetings between the two sides.

Real Madrid, spearheaded by the impressive Caroline Weir, Linda Caicedo and Alba Redondo, defeated two-time winners Wolfsburg 2-0 last week and should have too much for the Dutch side in this one.
