Tranmere vs Gillingham prediction

Tranmere Rovers had been expected to struggle but they started their season with a strong performance against Colchester United with a 1-1 draw on the opening day. That was then backed up by an extremely impressive 4-0 demolition of a Shrewsbury Town side that were relegated from League One last season.

They now face a Gillingham side that, coached by Gareth Ainsworth, began their campaign with a 1-1 draw at the Crown Ground against Accrington Stanley. They then edged past Walsall last weekend courtesy of a Bradley Dack winner, with Gillingham then suffering a penalty shootout defeat to AFC Wimbledon in Kent in the EFL Cup.

Gillingham are going to be typically solid like any other Ainsworth side, and Tranmere running up the score last week is going to likely be an anomalous occurrence.

Tranmere vs Gillingham tip: Under 2.5 goals
