Often a bit of a thriller, both teams need a victory as Tottenham Hotspur, desperate for a win, take on Liverpool, where enough may not be enough for Arne Slot for a while.

Tottenham preview: Tough start for Frank

It has been a tricky start to the season for Thomas Frank but Tottenham Hotspur had appeared to have turned a corner with an improved run of form earlier this month, but that came to a very poor end last weekend at the City Ground.

Away at Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest, Spurs suffered a 3-0 hammering against the previous strugglers due to a brace of goals scored by Callum Hudson-Odoi, as well as an Ibrahim Sangare strike.

Liverpool preview: Slot remains under pressure

Having won the title in his first season and then gone through serious tragedy as a manager over the summer, Liverpool have badly regressed this time around with the Mohamed Salah debacle, now eased, having caused yet another rupture.

The Reds have, since that infamous Salah interview, put together back-to-back victories, defeating Internazionale by a goal to nil at San Siro in the UEFA Champions League before a 2-0 victory against Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield.

Tottenham vs Liverpool prediction

Tottenham should be capable and wanting to get themselves on the front foot but the hosts have badly struggled to find any sort of urgency and cohesion in the final third of the pitch. Cohesion has also been an issue, both in defence and attack, for the visitors. Their poor defensive form, though, should give Frank and Spurs some hope and so they should get themselves on the front foot here, sensing an opportunity, with both teams scoring perhaps a good bet for this one in north London.

Tottenham vs Liverpool tip: Both teams to score
