Torino preview: Tedious Torino

Torino have been underperforming once again throughout the season, with quite a dull style of football, but the hosts have found some form over the festive period as they push back towards the top-half of the Serie A table.

The home team have won three of their last four matches in Italy’s top-flight as they come into this one on the back of a 3-0 hammering of Hellas Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi, courtesy of strikes from Giovanni Simeone, Cesare Casadei and Aliou Njie.

Udinese preview: Steady Udinese

Under the management of former Legia Warsaw boss Kosta Runjaic, Udinese head into the 19th match day of their 2025/26 Serie A campaign sitting just a point and a place behind Torino in the Serie A table after a poor recent run of form.

The Friulians suffered a slender 1-0 loss to Como at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia at the weekend, which means the visitors have now managed just one victory in their last six matches across all competitions.

Torino team news: Masina still at AFCON

Former Newcastle United and Watford defender Adam Masina remains unavailable for Torino as he is away with Morocco at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Franco Israel; Ismajli, Guillermo Maripan, Saul Coco; Lazaro, Gineitis, Ilkhan, Aboukhlal; Vlasic; Giovanni Simeone, Adams

Unavailable: Schuurs (Injured), Masina (International duty), Pedersen (Injured), Ilic (Injured)

Questionable:

Udinese team news: Attacking issues

Adam Buksa is an injury absentee for the visitors this week, while Vakoun Bayo is away on international duty at AFCON with Ivory Coast in the defence of their title.

Predicted XI (3-5-1-1): Padelli; Kristensen, Kabasele, Bertola; Zanoli, Piotrowski, Karlstrom, Ekkelenkamp, Kamara; Zaniolo; Davis

Unavailable: Buksa (Injured), Bayo (International duty)

Questionable: Goglichidze (Injured), Zemura (Injured), Modeste (International duty), Atta (Injured)

Torino vs Udinese prediction

There has been an improvement from Torino of late, especially in attack, helped by Nikola Vlasic playing in a slightly more advanced role and Giovanni Simeone continuing his fine season. Under Runjaic, Udinese have often been able to punch their way out of poor form by producing more attacking and entertaining games. Torino have to remain favourites, especially with home advantage, but it could be a surprisingly fun watch for the neutral.
