Torino Preview: Struggling Torino

Following the departure of now Southampton boss Ivan Juric over the summer, Antonio Conte-disciple Paolo Vanoli was brought in to try and make Torino more effective but, after a bright start to the campaign, they have now drifted into the middle-of-the-table.

The home team come into this one on the back of a goalless draw at home to Parma in their most recent outing last weekend. They have now managed just one victory in their last ten matches with that win coming via a half-way line strike from Che Adams.

Juventus Preview: New era for the Old Lady

Thiago Motta took charge of Juventus over the summer and things have certainly changed in Turin but the Bianconeri have underwhelmed and were beaten by AC Milan in the semi-finals of the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia in their most recent outing last weekend.

They remain the only unbeaten side in Serie A in their opening 18 matches of the campaign thus far. They have managed seven victories with, remarkably, 11 draws in their Serie A season as they begin the weekend sitting outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League places.

Torino Team News: Ricci a doubt

Key man Samuele Ricci is an injury doubt for this weekend due to a thigh issue. Defender Saul Coco is also a doubt, too. They remain without long-term ACL injury absentees Perr Schuurs and Colombia international striker Duvan Zapata.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Vojvoda, Guillermo Maripan, Saul Coco; Lazaro, Ricci, Ilic, Sosa; Vlasic, Karamoh; Adams

Unavailable: Schuurs (Injured), Duvan Zapata (Injured)

Questionable: Saul Coco (Injured), Gineitis (Injured), Ricci (Injured)

Juventus Team News: Locatelli suspension

Italy international midfielder Manuel Locatelli is missing through suspension for this weekend’s derby day. As well as the absence of Locatelli, defenders Bremer and Juan Cabal are out injured, whilst Francisco Conceicao is also an injury doubt.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Savona, Gatti, Kalulu, McKennie; Fagioli, Thuram; Yildiz, Koopmeiners, Mbangula; Vlahovic

Unavailable: Bremer (Injured), Juan Cabal (Injured), Locatelli (Suspended)

Questionable: Conceicao (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Torino vs Juventus Prediction

Derby della Mole is one of the more one-sided city rivalries in European football with Juventus dominating the rivalry ever since the tragic end of the Grande Torino era. Torino have struggled for goals and struggled to create chances on a consistent basis as they now face a Juventus side that have drawn too many matches this season because of a lack of thrust and incision in the final third themselves. Juve are favourites for what is expected to be a low-scoring affair at Stadio Grande Torino in Piedmont.

Torino vs Juventus Tip: Juventus to win & under 3.5 goals
