THE PREDICTION

World number seven Stefanos Tsitsipas desperately needs a convincing week in Cincinnati after losing to Jack Draper last week at the Canada Masters. The 24-year-old has won two ATP titles this season, defending his Monte-Carlo Masters crown and claiming a first on grass at the Mallorca Championships, but he has also faltered on many occasions since undergoing elbow surgery at the start of the year. World number 46 Filip Krajinovic exacted revenge on Dan Evans on Tuesday, beating the Brit in straight sets to reverse their meeting in Montreal last week, and the Serb has found some excellent form this summer. 30-year-old Krajinovic finished runner-up to Matteo Berrettini at Queen’s back in June after a victory over in-form Marin Cilic and he beat Tsitsipas in their most recent meeting at last season’s Hamburg Open. The Greek leads their head-to-head 2-1 but all three of their meetings have seen at least a set go both ways and that makes three sets a reasonable option here. Otherwise, back Tsitsipas to come back stronger from last week’s disappointment to win outright.
