World number 22 Donna Vekic is enjoying an excellent resurgence on tour after several year sin the wilderness. The 26-year-old reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January before defeat to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka and she claimed the fourth WTA title of her career at the Monterrey Open. Vekic reached the round of 16 here at her peak in 2019 and recent results on clay suggest she could emulate that run with the right draw. Former world number 21 Dayana Yastremska edged through qualifying to make the main draw at Roland-Garros for a fourth time but the Ukrainian has never won a match here in Paris and she has lost each of her last six Grand Slam matches.
