Aslan Karatsev moved up to a career-high 19^th in the ATP world rankings after winning the Kremlin Cup in October, his second title of the season after winning the ATP 500 event in Dubai. The 28-year-old should enjoy the indoor conditions in Paris as the 13^th seed but he has been offered a tough opening draw against rising star Sebastian Korda. The 21-year-old has struggled to properly impact a tournament since his excellent run to the round of 16 at Wimbledon back in July but he is always a threat, no less than earlier this season where he beat Karatsev in comprehensive fashion at the Miami Open. This time around the Russian is the man in the far better form and he should be able to make the most of a currently out-of-sorts American. Take Karatsev to win outright here.
