Tanzania preview: Average Tanzanians

Tanzania began their CAF Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 2-1 defeat to a surprisingly strong and improved Nigeria side at the Fez Stadium in Fes, with Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman scoring the goals for the Super Eagles.

The Tanzanians, who have a limited squad with only former Aston Villa striker Mbwana Samatta of any real note or pedigree, shared a 1-1 draw with Uganda in a frustrating performance at the Al Medina Stadium in Rabat.

Tunisia preview: Strong but beaten

In the last 18 months or so, Tunisia have turned themselves into one of the very strongest teams in Africa once again, but they do face a small test ahead of this one after suffering a defeat.

In their opening game, the strong Tunisians eased to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Uganda before they then succumbed to a surprise 3-2 loss to Nigeria in which Tunisia produced a spirited comeback from 3-0 down.

Tanzania team news: Full strength Tanzanians

As they take on a strong Tunisia side this week, Tanzania will need to be at full strength here and so there is unlikely to be any too many changes for this one.

Predicted XI (4-5-1): Foba; Mnoga, Mwamnyeto, Hamad, Hussein; Allarakhia, Miroshi, Salum, Msanga, Msuva; John

Tunisia team news: Fully fit Tunisians

Tunisia need to go full strength for this one after their defeat to Nigeria and they have no need to make any changes as a result of having a fully fit and available squad.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Dahmen; Valery, Bronn, Talbi, Abdi; Sassi, Ben Romdhane, Skhiri; Achouri, Mastouri, Mejbri

Tanzania vs Tunisia prediction

Tanzania have been quite a defensive team for a while now. Their game plan is often to try and contain the opposition and focus on providing opportunities for Samatta in the final third. They face a Tunisia side that have been a lot more entertaining to watch this season with a fair bit more depth. Tunisia are expected to come out on top in what may still end up being a low-scoring encounter.

Tanzania vs Tunisia tip: Tunisia to win & under 3.5 goals
