Sydney FC vs Melbourne Victory prediction

Sydney FC have been grinding out wins of late and are coming off the back of consecutive one-goal wins against Wellington Phoenix and Brisbane Roar respectively. The chances are they won’t be able to do the same vs Melbourne Victory when taking into account the goalscoring prowess of their latest opponents. The visitors haven’t lost since the first day of February, racking up eight points from four league games since then and averaging two goals per match.

But whilst the Victory are always capable of finding the net, they are also vulnerable defensively. None of those four recent fixtures saw them keep a clean sheet that doesn’t bode well against a side of Sydney FC’s quality. But expect Melbourne Victory to carve out opportunities to break through a tough home defence and backing both teams to score looks a shrewd play.
