Key stats

  • Suriname have lost only one of their last ten World Cup qualifying matches (W7 D2).
  • Suriname are unbeaten in their last five World Cup qualifying matches at home (W4 D1).
  • Suriname have kept four clean sheets in their last five World Cup qualifying matches at home.
  • Guatemala have lost only two of their last 12 World Cup qualifying matches (W7 D3).

Suriname vs Guatemala prediction

Suriname head into this game in excellent form, losing just one of their last ten World Cup qualification fixtures, underlining the difficulty of Guatemala’s task to come away from this one with a win. There has been little to separate the four nations in Group A, but Suriname proved their credentials with a massive 1-2 win over El Salvador back in September.

Such a result was a huge momentum swinger for them and the confidence among the Suriname squad will be extremely high heading into this one. Guatemala have been good defensively, but struggled going forward and with the momentum in Surname’s favour along with home advantage, backing the latter to win is a play worth making.

Suriname vs Guatemala tip: Suriname to win
