Whilst second-placed Senegal would be in pole position to reach the knockout stage over third-placed Congo with a draw here, their goal different isn’t the highest and a sizeable Congo victory would end up knocking them out. With that in mind, they can’t afford to gamble and play for a point here against Sudan, who sit in top spot and hold all the cards.
For Sudan, avoiding defeat would be enough and as a result, don’t be surprised if we see a largely defensive style of play from them. Chances could therefore be few and far between as Senegal can’t risk pushing too many men forward and being caught out, so explore backing under 2.5 goals to be scored.
