Strasbourg preview: Silky Strasbourg

Coached by former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior, BlueCo-owned Strasbourg have been very entertaining to watch and they have also been much-improved this time around, albeit they have slipped out of the top six in Ligue 1.

The Alsace-based outfit have managed to win just one of their last four matches in France’s top-flight, but they do head into this one on the back of a 2-1 victory over Hacken in the league phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Lille preview: Entertaining Lille

Under the management of Bruno Genesio, Lille begin the 12th match day of the Ligue 1 campaign sitting tucked inside the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots but they have been quite inconsistent of late.

The northerners edged past Angers by a goal to nil at Stade Pierre-Mauroy last weekend before then stumbling to a 1-0 defeat to Serbian champions Crvena Zvezda in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League.

Strasbourg team news: Lots of issues

Strasbourg are dealing with lots of issues as Ismael Doukoure is missing through suspension, whilst the likes of Saidou Sow and Emmanuel Emegha are injury issues.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Penders; Doue, Hogsberg, Chilwell; Ouattara, El Mourabet, Barco, Diego Moreira; Amo-Ameyaw, Julio Enciso; Panichelli

Questionable: Omobamidele (Injured), Sarr (Injured), Emegha (Injured)

Lille team news: Mbappe still out

Ethan Mbappe, the brother of Kylian, is now unavailable for Lille, alongside defensive duo Alexsandro and Ousmane Toure, whilst Nathan Ngoy is a doubt for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ozer; Meunier, Mbemba, Mandi, Verdonk; Andre, Bouaddi; Correia, Haraldsson, Fernandez-Pardo; Giroud

Unavailable: Alexsandro (Injured), Toure (Injured), Mbappe (Injured)

Questionable: Ngoy (Injured)

Strasbourg vs Lille prediction

These are two teams that will likely get themselves on the front foot. They both play a possession-based style of football but, in the last six months or so, they have been able to find a more efficiency and effectiveness in the final third of the pitch. That has led to plenty of entertaining clashes involving the two sides and both teams scoring in this one would appear a good bet.

Strasbourg vs Lille tip: Both teams to score
