St. Polten vs Atletico Madrid prediction

St. Polten looked a little out of their depth in last season's group stage, losing all six games, although they were drawn into an admittedly tough group featuring Barcelona and Manchester City.

The Austrian outfit have made it through qualifying for the fourth season in succession though, this time beating Fortuna 5-2 on aggregate in the third qualifying round.

They take on an Atletico Madrid side who are making their first appearance in either the group stage or league phase of the UEFA Women's Champions League, having won a dramatic third qualifying round tie with Hacken.

Finishing third in their domestic league last season, Atleti's best showing on the European stage was a quarter-final appearance in 2019-20. They've started the season in reasonably solid fashion and they have the edge over St. Polten in all areas of the pitch. Expect the Spanish side to be leading at both half-time and full-time at NV Arena.

St. Polten vs Atletico Madrid tip: Double result – Atletico Madrid / Atletico Madrid
