Somalia are one of the weakest sides in CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they now prepare to take on a strong Algeria side seeking to make it to next summer.

Key Stats

  • Somalia have won only one of their previous 21 World Cup qualifying matches (D4 L16). Their only victory was a 1-0 win against Zimbabwe in September 2019.
  • Somalia have never scored more than one goal in a World Cup qualifying match.
  • Algeria have lost only two of their last 17 World Cup qualifying matches (W12 D3).

Somalia vs Algeria Prediction

Group G, after eight matches with two games to go in CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, sees Somalia sitting rock-bottom with just one point collected, whilst Algeria are sitting at the top with 19 points from their eight games, albeit they will be frustrated to have not yet qualified for the tournament due to both Uganda and Mozambique sitting four points behind.

Somalia head into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to the aforementioned Ugandans at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda last month, whilst Algeria were denied qualification due to a goalless draw with Guinea.

Algeria may have been delayed in their target but they will ensure qualification for next summer’s 48-team tournament with an expected comfortable victory against Somalia here.

Somalia vs Algeria Tip: Algeria to win -1 handicap
