Ronnie O’Sullivan was critical of the standard of young players in the game in the aftermath of his 13-10 victory over Ding Junhui on Sunday evening but he runs into an old foe here in the form of three-time champion Mark Williams. The pair haven’t met since 2017 but have contested an incredible 45 contests in their career with O’Sullivan winning the lion’s share of those meetings. Both players have played some excellent snooker in Sheffield in the first two rounds but the edge has to go to The Rocket, who looks bang up for it this year and will take some stopping.
