After a competitive start to the season while in administration, of which they are still in, Sheffield Wednesday have since majorly and fairly regressed. The Owls remain on -7 points with captain Barry Bannan having now departed. Their 2-0 loss at Bristol City last week extended their losing streak to six matches.
Wrexham, on the other hand, following their three successive promotions, begin the weekend in the top six and the playoff places. The big spending and ambitious Red Dragons managed to defeat Queens Park Rangers by three goals to two and Phil Parkinson’s men will believe this is a chance to further cement their promotion credentials.
Modern day football often doesn’t have too many gimmes but circumstances dictate that anyone playing Wednesday will believe a victory is the bare minimum.
