Shamrock Rovers vs Derry City prediction

Shamrock Rovers returned to the pinnacle of Irish football last season, having been knocked off top spot by Shelbourne in 2024. Shamrock’s most recent competitive outing saw them defeat Hamrun Spartans in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Derry City were pipped to the title by just three points last season, despite finishing the 2025 campaign with four successive victories. They have made the much discussed signing of James McClean in the off season and will be expected to challenge again.

Shamrock finished last season extremely poorly and the 2025 season begins with immense pressure on Stephen Bradley, who has been in charge since 2016, and perhaps siding with Derry may well be a good bet to kick off the 2026 season and the first piece of silverware in Irish football.

Shamrock Rovers vs Derry City tip: Double chance – Derry City to win or draw
