Shakhtar Donetsk come into this one on the back of a 3-1 defeat of Dynamo Kyiv in the Premier League at the weekend, a couple of days after a 2-1 loss to the capital city club in the midweek. They have been beaten by Legia Warsaw in this competition, a few days after a victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
They face Icelandic champions Breidablik that have started the campaign with a draw and a defeat thus far. The Icelanders suffered a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Lausanne Sport before they then shared a goalless draw with Finnish champions Kuopion Palloseura at Laugardalsvollur in Reykjavik.
Shakhtar do not have the home advantage here but they remain the favourites against a Breidablik side that are limited in terms of quality, as has been shown.
