Sevilla preview: Steady Sevilla
Sevilla come into this one on the back of a thrilling victory a couple of weeks ago as the Andalusians defeated defending champions Barcelona by four goals to one at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan before the October international break.
Sevilla have been a bit of a mess off the pitch for quite a while but they have been much-improved in the 2025/26 La Liga campaign, following the appointment of Argentine coach Matias Almeyda.
Mallorca preview: Struggling Majorcans
There is growing pressure on manager Jago Arrasate, formerly of Osasuna, due to some off-field issues that resulted in him stripping Dani Rodriguez of the Real Mallorca captaincy, and they sit rock-bottom in La Liga after eight matches.
The Balearic Islanders have managed just one win so far this season and the visitors most recently suffered a 2-1 loss to Athletic Club at San Mames in their most recent outing a couple of weeks ago in the Basque Country.
Sevilla team news: Doubts for Sevilla
Much like their opponents, Sevilla are also dealing with a few key doubts, too, as Tanguy Nianzou is potentially sidelined alongside both Joan Jordan and summer signing Alfon.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vlachodimos; Jose Angel Carmona, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcao, Suazo; Agoume, Mendy; Sanchez, Sow, Vargas; Isaac Romero
Unavailable:
Questionable: Nianzou (Injured), Joan Jordan (Injured), Alfon (Injured)
Mallorca team news: Key doubts
Mallorca have a couple of key doubts for this one, such as Marash Kumbulla and Omar Mascarell, whilst experienced winger Antonio Sanchez is missing through suspension, too.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leo Roman; Pablo Maffeo, Valjent, Antonio Raillo, Johan Mojica; Costa, Manu Morlanes; Mateo Joseph, Sergi Darder, Pablo Torre; Muriqi
Unavailable: Dani Rodriguez (Disciplinary), Antonio Sanchez (Suspended), Asano (Injured)
Questionable: Kumbulla (Injured), Omar Mascarell (Injured)
Sevilla vs Mallorca prediction
This does appear to be a bit of a mis-match. The performances and commitment shown from Mallorca players of late would suggest they are backing Jago Arrasate, but the visitors are struggling for any actual quality and cohesion on the pitch. Given that, as well as their own form and their home advantage, siding with Sevilla would appear the way to go for this one.
