Sevilla preview: Indifferent Sevilla

Sevilla have put in some excellent performances this season, following the appointment of Argentine coach Matias Almeyda, but the Argentinian is coming under a bit of pressure with Sevilla suffering from far too much inconsistency this season.

One of their worst performances came last weekend as they returned from the mid-season winter break, suffering a 3-0 loss to previously relegated Levante at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Andalusia.

Celta Vigo preview: Entertaining Celta

Despite having to balance La Liga with European commitments in the UEFA Europa League this season, Celta Vigo have been surprisingly strong and entertaining this season as they once again compete for a top six or seven finish.

The Galicians returned from the break with a 4-1 hammering of Valencia at Balaidos last weekend with Borja Iglesias notching a brace before strikes from Jonas El-Abdellaoui and Hugo Alvarez.

Sevilla team news: Defensive issues

Marcao is missing through suspension for the hosts this weekend, while fellow defenders Tanguy Nianzou and Cesar Azpilicueta are probable injury absentees.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Vlachodimos; Jose Angel Carmona, Gudelj, Kike Salas; Juanlu, Agoume, Mendy, Sow, Oso; Sanchez, Gatito

Unavailable: Marcao (Suspended)

Questionable: Nianzou (Injured), Cesar Azpilicueta (Injured), Adams (Injured), Ejuke (Injured), Vargas (Injured)

Celta Vigo team news: A few doubts

Celta are dealing with a few key injury doubts for this one in Seville, with defenders Carlos Dominguez and Mihailo Ristic potentially sidelined alongside Williot Swedberg.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Radu; Javi Rodriguez, Aidoo, Marcos Alonso; Oscar Mingueza, Ilaix Moriba, Fran Beltran, Sergio Carreira; Bryan Zaragoza, Borja Iglesias, Iago Aspas

Unavailable:

Questionable: Carlos Dominguez (Injured), Ristic (Injured), Swedberg (Injured)

Sevilla vs Celta Vigo prediction

At their best this season, Sevilla have played some brilliant football with a lot of energy and intensity in the final third in particular. The hosts will be expected to swarm their opposition but Celta themselves are a slick side, especially on the counter-attack and when in transition, ready to pounce and exploit. Celta are simply more competent so it could well be a fun watch for the neutral but the visitors have to be viewed as the favourites.
