Saudi Arabia vs Australia prediction

Saudi Arabia come into this final match of the third-round group stage knowing they have to win by five goals to overtake Australia and claim second place.

If they fail to do so, they will progress to the fourth round and another group stage to be played in October and that is the most likely scenario after the results on Thursday.

The Saudis were frustrated by the news that Japan played a somewhat weakened team against Australia but they can ultimately only blame themselves for a mediocre set of results so far.

Australia know they have to approach this match in the usual manner but knowing their margin for error, that will likely also play into their hands stylistically in this match also.

They are a different animal under Tony Popovic and they have real momentum right now. Even though the emphasis is on the home side to get the win, the visitors will be fired up and they could even come away with the points.

Saudi Arabia vs Australia tip: Australia draw no bet
