It has been a reasonable start to the season for newly-promoted Sassuolo as they now prepare to welcome a strong Roma side that could do with finding some form.

Sassuolo preview: Steady Sassuolo

Sassuolo begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top-half of the table with three victories, a draw and three defeats in their opening seven matches, which is a reasonable return having gained promotion last season.

The home team returned from the October international break on the back of a goalless draw with a struggling Lecce side last weekend at the Stadio Comunale Via del Mare in Apulia.

Roma preview: Frustration for Roma

Gian Piero Gasperini departed to end his long reign in charge of Atalanta over the summer and moved to the capital city to become manager of a Roma side that would hope to be resurgent.

It had been a steadily strong start to the campaign for the Giallorossi but they now come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss at home to Internazionale being followed up by a 2-1 defeat at home to Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Champions League.

Sassuolo team news: A few issues

Sassuolo are dealing with a few injury issues as defensive duo Tarik Muharemovic and Yeferson Paz are doubtful, whilst Daniel Boloca and Edoardo Pieragnolo are confirmed absentees.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Muric; Walukiewicz, Idzes, Romagna, Doig; Vranckx, Matic, Thorstvedt; Berardi, Pinamonti, Lauriente

Unavailable: Boloca (Injured), Pieragnolo (Injured)

Questionable: Muharemovic (Injured), Yeferson Paz (Injured)

Roma team news: Nothing fresh

There are no fresh injury concerns for the Romans to deal with for this weekend as former Manchester City full-back Angelino is unavailable due to illness.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mario Hermoso, Mancini, Ndicka; Celik, Kone, Cristante, Wesley; Matias Soule, Pellegrini; Dybala

Unavailable: Angelino (Illness), Bove (Illness)

Questionable:

Sassuolo vs Roma prediction

Roma have some good players and will eventually likely be able to adapt well to the all out attacking excitement of Gasperini football, which led Atalanta to such heights. Sassuolo themselves also have a brilliant squad for a newly-promoted side and they will believe they can try and exploit a Roma side seeking to discover and refine their patterns of play, and so both teams scoring would appear a good bet for this one.

Sassuolo vs Roma tip: Both teams to score
