Sanfrecce Hiroshima vs Johor Darul Ta’zim prediction

In the first-leg of this AFC Champions League round of 16 tie, Johor Darul Ta’zim defeated Sanfrecce Hiroshima by three goals to one at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Gelang Petah in a game in which Johor went 3-0 up after Sanfrecce had a man sent off in the first-half but a late Nene own goal has given the Japanese some hope.

Sanfrecce have started their Japanese J1 League campaign quite well, while Johor are the dominant side in Malaysia with 18 wins from 18 in the 2025/26 campaign.

With their home advantage, Sanfrecce Hiroshima should be able to come out on top in this second-leg, albeit it remains uncertain as to whether they will have enough to turn things around against the Malaysians, who can sit back and counter-attack.
