Key stats

  • Cyprus have won all the eight international matches between these teams.
  • San Marino have lost all but two of their previous 82 World Cup qualifying matches (D 0-0 vs Türkiye 1993 and D 1-1 vs Latvia 2001).

San Marino vs Cyprus prediction

Last autumn, San Marino gained promotion to League A of the UEFA Nations League, finishing above Liechtenstein and Gibraltar. Despite the Sammarinese’s improvement, they were annihilated the other day as Austria defeated them by ten goals to nil at the Ernst-Happel Stadion in Vienna.

Cyprus have been declining and regressing for quite some time and that has continued into this qualifying campaign. However, the Cypriots did at least salvage some pride in Nicosia the other day, fighting back from 2-0 down to share a 2-2 draw at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Cyprus are hardly the most dominant and cohesive sides at the moment, and they could be frustrated at times here, but they should still win quite comfortably.

San Marino vs Cyprus tip: Cyprus to win & under 4.5 goals
