Salzburg vs Basel prediction

Having played at the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer, Red Bull Salzburg have played 33 games already since June. The Austrians’ fatigue may well have had an impact on their very disappointing European campaign with one win in six UEFA Europa League games after UEFA Champions League third qualifying round elimination.

Basel 1893 come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with Sion at the weekend as they sit ten points adrift of Thun at the top-of-the-table in the Swiss Super League. In Europe, they have collected six points from six games as they sit just a point outside of the top 24 with two games to go.

Salzburg have very little to play for and shouldn’t be too motivated in this competition and so siding with Basel appears the way to go for this one in Austria.

Salzburg vs Basel tip: Double chance – Basel to win or draw
