Salford vs Crewe prediction

Last season, it appeared as though Salford City were absolute certainties for the playoffs until a shock defeat to already relegated Carlisle United on the final day of the campaign saw them slip out of the top seven. Karl Robinson has brought in some more strong signings this summer and they should be good again this season.

Crewe Alexandra were losing playoff finalists at the end of the 2023/24 campaign and, under the management of Lee Bell, they suffered from a major hangover last year. They have since lost Player of the Year Max Conway, who was on loan from Bolton Wanderers last season, and they are once again reliant on their academy for this season.

Crewe are reliant on an academy that has slowed down in terms of its production line and, on opening day, Salford would appear firm favourites with their home advantage.

Salford vs Crewe tip: Salford to win
