The biggest criticism of Ryan Searle since he established himself as a high-ranking tour player around five years ago has been his inability to reach the latter end of major televised tournaments. Take the Worlds Darts Championship as an example, Searle has never gone beyond the round of 16, which for a player of his ability is quite frankly, a failure on Searle’s part.
Chris Landman’s biggest televised appearance was when he reached the final at Lakeside back in 2023. The Dutchman secured his first PDC tour card in 2024 but hasn’t found tour life easy over the past couple of years and desperately needs a good finish at Ally Pally to retain his card. He didn’t play well enough in the first-round last year and a similar showing this time round will see him blown away by Searle.
‘Heavy Metal’ normally hits his stride early on in these televised events and has never been knocked out at this stage of the World Darts Championship before. Don’t expect that to change here, back him to triumph comfortably.
