THE LOWDOWN

SCOTLAND

  • There were plenty of positives for Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend to take from the opening victory over Wales but he will be know his team will have to raise their game further against the French and overcome a couple of absentees.
  • Luke Crosbie is out with a shoulder injury while Richie Gray’s bicep problem sees him on the sidelines for the remainder of the tournament so co-captain Rory Darge come back in and Jack Demspey start.

FRANCE

  • France were left to rue a poor start and an early red card for Paul Willemse against the Irish last week and they know there is now no margin for error if they are to challenge for honours in this edition of the Six Nations.
  • With Willemse suspended, Cameron Woki comes into the second row while they also make another change with Louis Bielle-Biarrey starting on the wing at the expense of Yoram Moefana.

THE PREDICTION

Mixed results for these two teams last week as Scotland welcome France to Murrayfield and there is plenty on the line here. Scotland come off a tremendous win over Wales in a thrilling match but for all the euphoria around that win, it was not plain sailing and they will have to improve their performance over the full eighty minutes. France will be fired up to bounce back from their loss to the Irish where a poor start killed off any chance they had against a strong Irish side. They simply have to win this game and they should ultimately have too much quality for the hosts. Expect the French to win by double digits.

TIP: France to win -4 points
