World number 12 Ross Smith had an outstanding 2024 but his levels have dropped somewhat in 2025 but he will be hoping to end the year on a high.
The year was not without its highlights however as he became just the third player to hit two nine-darters on the same day and he picked up a couple of Players Championship titles.
He will however be desperate to get a win under his belt here having been shocked last year in his opening match as he was whitewashed 3-0 by Paolo Nebrida.
He takes on newcomer Andreas Harrysson who will be buzzing to make his debut at Ally Pally at the grand age of 50. The Swedish qualified as a PDCNB ProTour Winner and he will relish the opportunity on the biggest stage of his career so far.
Harrysson has nothing to lose and he will be looking to cause a shock upset but Smith will be fired up to avoid what happened last year. We expect Smith to get the win and hit the most 180s too.
