Roma preview: Impressive Romans

Following the impressive appointment of Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini over the summer, Roma have started their campaign with four victories in their five matches across all competitions so far this season.

After winning the Derby della Capitale against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend, Roma then managed to defeat Nice by two goals to one at the Allianz Riviera in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League in midweek.

Hellas Verona preview: Winless Verona

They are once again expected to struggle against the drop this season and, in their opening four matches of the Serie A season, Hellas Verona remain winless with a defeat and three draws thus far under the management of Paolo Zanetti.

Verona come into this one on the back of another poor result in midweek, too, as they were knocked out in the second round of the Coppa Italia the other day after a goalless draw against Venezia which ended in a penalty shootout defeat.

Roma team news: A few issues

Ahead of the visit of Verona to the capital city this weekend, the Romans are continuing to deal with key attacking absentees such as Argentina international Paulo Dybala and Jamaica international Leon Bailey.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Celik, Mancini, Ndicka; Rensch, El Aynaoui, Kone, Tsimikas; Matias Soule, El Shaarawy; Dovbyk

Unavailable: Bove (Illness), Dybala (Injured), Bailey (Injured)

Questionable:

Hellas Verona team news: Several doubts

As they make the trip to the Stadio Olimpico, Verona are dealing with a lot of injury doubts for this one, such as midfielder Roberto Gagliardini and attacker Daniel Mosquera.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Montipo; Unai Nunez, Nelsson, Frese; Belghali, Serdar, Akpa-Akpro, Bernede, Bradaric; Giovane, Orban

Unavailable: Harroui (Injured), Suslov (Injured)

Questionable: Valentini (Injured), Oyegoke (Injured), Gagliardini (Injured), Cham (Injured), Daniel Mosquera (Injured)

Roma vs Hellas Verona prediction

Roma have the home advantage for this one and they will be expected to eventually find some proper attacking fluency that is more representative and emblematic of the Gasperini style of football at Atalanta. Verona head to the capital city with very little quality and any sort of cohesion under Zanetti. Roma aren’t yet convincing, but they are still getting victories.

Roma vs Hellas Verona tip: Roma to win & under 3.5 goals
