Rob Cross barely had to get out of second gear in his 3-0 victory over Cor Dekker in the first round, with his opponent winning just two legs on his Alexandra Palace debut.
'Voltage' was fairly unremarkable himself, averaging 90.84, but was proficient on his doubles and the former world champion is capable of raising his game to another level.
Ian White held off a fightback from Mervyn King in the first round, emerging as a 3-2 winner over his fellow veteran thrower.
It was admittedly a poor standard though, with a slew of missed doubles, and he will need to significantly improve upon his 81.13 average in order to trouble Cross here.
Cross is not at the top of his game right now, but he still looks capable of outclassing White here.
