Rob Cross vs Cor Dekker prediction

2018 world champion Rob Cross has admitted to lacking motivation at times during the year but that shouldn’t be an issue here at the biggest darts tournament on the calendar. Inconsistency has worn Cross down at times and he’s struggled with his fitness. However, expect ‘Voltage’ to be ready and raring to go at Ally Pally, especially after last year’s surprise second round exit at the hands of Scott Williams.

Cor Dekker will be representing Norway on the oche and his most notable showing so far this year, his first as a PDC tour card holder was in the Swiss Darts Trophy event, where he reached the semi-finals, beating the likes of Peter Wright, Chris Dobey and Jonny Clayton before losing to Luke Woodhouse.

Cross is a more reliable scorer than Dekker and comes into this tournament is a good frame of mind after beating Michael van Gerwen earlier this month in Leeds at an exhibition tournament. Whilst the result itself means little, the psychological effect of beating a player like MVG must be positive. Expect him to wind up too strong for Dekker, scoring well in the process.
