Real Sociedad vs Rayo Vallecano prediction

Stuttering Real Sociedad managed to unexpectedly take the lead against reigning La Liga champions Barcelona at Camp Nou last weekend, but they ultimately fell to a 2-1 defeat to the Catalan side.

Currently in the bottom three heading into this fixture, Sociedad have picked up just one victory in their first seven games, and look a shadow of the side who performed so well a couple of years ago.

They do face a fellow struggler here though, with Rayo Vallecano winless in their last six league games since winning their season-opener against Girona. Inigo Perez' side did pick up a win on Thursday though, defeating North Macedonian outfit KF Shkendija 2-0 in the UEFA Conference League.

They are lacking confidence domestically though, as are Real Sociedad, and with both sides having reached double figures for goals conceded in La Liga this season, both defences are likely to concede.
