How to watch online: UK – discovery+ / US – Paramount+

Real Madrid preview: Grinding it out

Xabi Alonso came in and brought with him a lot of excitement over the summer and Los Blancos have started the season strongly, albeit only really in terms of results with their performance level being fairly average.

That has been the case in victories against both Olympique de Marseille and Kairat Almaty in the UEFA Champions League and was repeated with a slender 1-0 victory over local rivals Getafe at the Coliseum at the weekend.

Juventus preview: New era for the Old Lady

Ever since the appointment of Igor Tudor, Juventus have been steadily improving, both in terms of their results and their entertainment value, which was best shown in a 4-4 draw against Borussia Dortmund in their opening game in this competition.

That 4-4 draw was then backed up with another entertaining clash with a 2-2 draw against Villarreal a week later before a goalless draw with AC Milan and then a 2-0 loss to Como either side of the October international break.

Real Madrid team news: Several injuries

Real Madrid are dealing with several injury issues for this week with Trent Alexander-Arnold trying to get back to fitness. He has trained alongside Dani Carvajal but they are both unlikely to be involved here, whilst David Alaba is a confirmed absentee.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Courtois; Valverde, Huijsen, Militao, Carreras; Guler, Tchouameni, Bellingham; Mastantuono, Mbappe, Vinicius

Unavailable: Rudiger (Injured), Alaba (Injured), Ceballos (Injured)

Questionable: Huijsen (Injured), Carvajal (Injured), Alexander-Arnold (Injured), Mendy (Injured)

Juventus team news: A few issues

Juventus are dealing with a few key issues for this week’s trip to the Spanish capital city with Brazilian defender Bremer having sustained another serious injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Rugani, Gatti, Kelly; Kalulu, Locatelli, Koopmeiners, Cambiaso; Conceicao, Yildiz; David

Unavailable: Pinsoglio (Injured), Bremer (Injured), Cabal (Injured), Zhegrova (Injured)

Questionable: Miretti (Injured)

Real Madrid vs Juventus prediction

15-time European champions Real Madrid have won ten of their 11 matches so far this season across all competitions. That is a brilliant start for a new era looking to gel and find some form – and yet they haven’t been overly convincing at all throughout the last couple of months. Juventus head to the Bernabeu looking to rediscover some form and they have been fun to watch in Europe but Madrid remain favourites with their home advantage.

Real Madrid vs Juventus Tip: Real Madrid to win & both teams to score
