Real Madrid vs Barcelona Prediction

We have the 259th edition of El Clasico to earn the first piece of silverware in Spanish football this season as Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid, resurgent in La Liga’s title race, take on Hansi Flick’s stumbling Barcelona in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

Real Madrid returned from the winter break with a dramatic come from behind to defeat Valencia by two goals to one at Mestalla last weekend. They then had a hard-fought victory over Real Mallorca in the semi-finals with a 3-0 win in which their final two goals in that rout came in second-half stoppage-time.

Barcelona had been rampant in La Liga until the last couple of months and they had drifted in the title race. The Blaugrana’s Supercopa de Espana semi-final saw them defeat Athletic Club by two goals to nil at King Abdullah Sports City in midweek thanks to goals in either half from Gavi and Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona hammered Madrid in October but they have struggled pretty much ever since. It should be a closer affair and it should also be quite entertaining for the neutral.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Tip: Both teams to score
