Reading vs Burnley Prediction

Despite the departure of manager Ruben Selles as well as potentially disastrous off-field issues, Reading are still chasing League One promotion this season as they now take on Championship title challengers Burnley this weekend in Berkshire.

Reading come into this one on the back of a goalless draw away to Charlton Athletic at The Valley last weekend as they sit sixth in the third-tier. The Royals, with Noel Hunt in the dugout, have enjoyed an impressive festive period and they are now unbeaten in their last four matches ahead of this one.

Scott Parker has made what was a free flowing and fluent Burnley side into his typical Fulham and AFC Bournemouth-esque safety first promotion challengers. The Clarets are doing well, though, as they sit second in the second-tier, most recently defeating arch-rivals Blackburn Rovers by a goal to nil in the east Lancashire derby last weekend.

Reading don’t really have a squad deep enough to heavily rotate, whilst Burnley likely will. It is, as is ever the case with the visitors, likely to be a low-scoring affair for this one.

Reading vs Burnley Tip: Burnley to win & under 3.5 goals
