Reading vs AFC Wimbledon prediction

Reading come into this one on the back of a 2-1 defeat of Portsmouth in the first round of the EFL Cup, but Noel Hunt’s Royals need to improve in the league with the new hope of their new ownership. They began their campaign with a 2-0 loss to Lincoln City at Sincil Bank and then a 2-0 loss at home to Huddersfield Town a week later.

AFC Wimbledon, under the management of Johnnie Jackson, have started steadily, following their promotion to League One last season. Their penalty shootout victory over Gillingham in midweek backed up a 2-0 defeat of Lincoln City at Plough Lane last week, after a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on the opening day.

Reading need a performance and need a response this weekend, but Wimbledon can get it up most teams in League One, and it may be a close contest in Berkshire.

Reading vs AFC Wimbledon tip: Under 2.5 goals
