RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt conclude Saturday’s Bundesliga action post-international break.

Kick-off date/time:

RB Leipzig preview: Home comforts

RB Leipzig have had an inconsistent start to Bundesliga life in 2026-27. At home, things have been ideal with two wins from two, eight goals scored and nine conceded. Red Bull Arena feels like a fortress. On the road however, it’s been a different story. Two games, two defeats, just one goal scored and five conceded.

It’s been a bad start to the Champions League as well for Leipzig and they need to maintain their good home form if head coach Martin Demichelis is to keep the fans onside. This match represents their biggest home test so far.

Eintracht Frankfurt preview: One win in four

Whilst Eintracht Frankfurt have not picked up the number of points they would’ve liked at this stage of the season, it’s still early days and there are positives to take. Goals haven’t been hard to come by, with at least two scored in three of their four league fixtures, whilst they have also registered four points from the last six available to them.

Frankfurt’s last game on the road saw them put on a clinic away at Mainz, soaking up pressure and utilising their attacking quality to strike at the other end of the pitch, ultimately winning 1-3. A similar performance here would give them a good chance of success.

RB Leipzig team news: Baumgartner could return

RB Leipzig could have Baumgartner available for this game, along with Gruda which would be a big boost. However, Ouedraogo, Reitz, Guiu and Gebel are all on the treatment table.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vandevoordt; Baku, Orban, Lukeba, Raum; El Aynaoui, Banzuzi; Gomis, Nkunku, Nusa; Romulo

Unavailable: Gebel (Injured), Guiu (Injured), Ouedraogo (Injured), Reitz (Injured)

Questionable: Baumgartner (Injured), Gruda (Injured)

Eintracht Frankfurt team news: Ngankam big miss

Eintracht Frankfurt are without Ngankam, who is suffering with a hamstring injury, whilst Maluze and Pimpong are sidelined with illness and injury respectively.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Atubolu; Collins, Koch, Brassier; Doan, Aseko, Onyedika, Kosugi; Uzun; Ebnoutalib, Burkardt

Unavailable Maluze (Illness), Ngankam (Injured), Pimpong (Injured)

Questionable:

Will Antonio Nusa score in this match?

RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction

RB Leipzig have been near enough flawless on home turf this season but defensively, they’ll need to be in top form if Eintracht Frankfurt are to be kept at bay. However, you would expect Leipzig with their pace and skill on the wings in particular to cause huge problems for the visitors and Demichelis’ men to find the net more than once.

Eintracht’s offense is threatening, but their backline likely isn’t strong enough to contain the hosts and may well prove to be the away side’s undoing. Therefore, backing the hosts to pick up another three points at Red Bull Arena looks the smart play.
