Rapid Vienna reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season before a surprise defeat to Djurgarden in a tie where they seemingly had full control. The Austrians head into this one having started this year’s league phase with a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Lech Poznan in Poland.

They now face a Fiorentina side that head to Austria seeking to finally go a step or two further after being finalists in 2023 and 2024 before being semi-finalists in 2025. I Viola have struggled at the start of this season under Stefano Pioli but they did manage to comfortably defeat Sigma Olomouc in Europe a few weeks ago.

Rapid Vienna will believe they can spring a surprise against a poor Fiorentina side here, and that should lead to quite a fun watch for the neutral in the Austrian capital city.
