Rangers vs Panathinaikos prediction

Rangers, who have this summer been taken over by former Southampton boss Russell Martin, reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League last season, eventually suffering a 2-0 aggregate loss to Athletic Club. The Bears have certainly been able to punch above their weight in UEFA competition in recent seasons.

They now face a Panathinaikos side that, under the management of former Benfica and Spartak Moscow boss Rui Vitoria, finished as runners’ up in the Greek Super League last season. They have made some intriguing signings this summer, though, such as Georgios Kyriakopoulos, Alban Lafont and Pedro Chirivella.

Rangers may well be the team that are expected to push further into Europe this season, but it seems a well-matched tie and both teams scoring may well be a good bet.

Rangers vs Panathinaikos tip: Both teams to score
